Mark Specht

Pastor Mark’s faith journey began as a third-generation Reformed Episcopalian, baptized, confirmed, and nurtured in the Christian faith at Grace Reformed Episcopal Church in Collingdale, Pa.

Upon graduating from Williamson College of the Trades, Pastor Mark spent a year using carpentry skills with the RE missionaries Lil and Herman Brodish in West Germany. Seeking to serve the Lord and learn more of the Bible, he attended the Reformed Episcopal Seminary, where he received an M.Div degree.

The journey toward full-time ministry included various ministries in the Reformed Episcopal Church, namely: Four Brooks Youth Camp in Pipersville, PA; St. Luke’s RE in Murray Hill, NJ; St. Matthew’s RE in Havertown, PA; Bishop Cummins RE in Catonsville, MD; and Atonement RE in Philadelphia, PA.

Over the years, he further enhanced his qualifications by earning a BA in Sociology and an MA in Clinical Counseling from Eastern College, culminating in a Doctorate of Ministry in Chaplaincy from Liberty University in May, 2024.

Pastor Mark answered God’s call to Pastoral ministry in June 1993, at the Church of the Covenant RE, Media, PA. After a few years, and following the closing of that parish in April 1996, he continued his ministry at Atonement RE Church in Philadelphia until August 2007. It was at that time that he later received a call to pastor at Grace RE in Havre de Grace, MD, reflecting his ongoing dedication to serving God’s church and community.

In addition to his pastoral work, in August 1994, he was hired by his alma mater, Williamson College of Trades, to serve as a full-time Chaplain, Counselor, and Professor.
His ministry at Williamson over the past 32 years has been integral to solidifying the institutional commitment to its biblical Christian foundation.

Married in 1999 to Christine, a dedicated church member and licensed Christian Counselor in Berwyn, PA. They are blessed with two children, Oksana and Lars, who grew in their faith surrounded by a loving and caring community and have since graduated from Grove City University in PA.
